South Carolina Lancaster District Know all men by these presents that I Wilks Caston of the State and District above mentioned Planter for and in consideration of the sum of Three Hundred Dollars to me in hand paid by William Reves of the State of South Carolina Lancaster District have Bargained sold and released and by these Presents do grant Bargain sell and release unto the said William Reves all that Plantation or Tract of Land Containing Two Hundred and Fifty Acres being two adjoining Surveys Situate on Flat Creek in the State and District above mentioned and both Tracts granted to Abraham Adams under the hand of his Excellency C. G. Montague Gov SC dated the Twentieth of January One Thousand Seven Hundred Seventy Three. The above Mentioned Two Hundred acres survey then conveyed to Wilks Caston by a deed from F. Hail 5th day of Jany 1807 conveyed by the said Hail from Colden Williams by a Power of attorney conveyed to Colden Williams by a deed from the above said Adams dated 9th day of February 1802 the Land beginning on Post Oak Running E 44:72 to a Post thence N.44-72 to a Post W.44-72 to Jack oak So. 44-72 to the Beginning corner the other Fifty acres situate on Flat Creek bounded on the above said Two Hundred acres of Land Originally granted to Abraham Adams Bearing date 11th August 1774 the said Land conveyed by a deed from the said Adams to Colden Williams then by a Power of Attorney to Ferguson Hail & then by a deed to Wilks Caston the Land beginning on a Black Oak thence South 22.36 To Blackmon Oak thence E 22 36 to a Post thence No. 22.36 to Black Oak and thence to the beginning Corner. Together with all and Singular the rights members Hereditaments and appurtanances to the said Premises belonging or in any wiser appertaining to to Have and Hold all and Singular the Premises above mentioned unto the said William Reves his heirs and assigns forever and I do hereby Bind myself by heirs and assigns to Warrant and forever defend the all and singular the said Premises unto the said William Reves his heirs and assigns and against every Person or Persons whomsoever Lawfully claiming or to claim the same or any Part thereof In Witness thereof I have hereunto set my hand and affix my seal this Second day of Jany. Lancaster District } Personally appeared David Williams before me and after being duly Sworn sayeth that he was Present and saw Wilks Caston sign seal and as his act and Deed Deliver the within instrument of Writing to William Reves for the use and intent set forth (&)? further saith that Benjamin Reves did assign as Witness with himself Sworn to before me this 30th day of April 1808
