Transcript

In the name of God Amen I Hezekiah Reeve of Riverhead in the County of Suffolk and State of New York Being poorly in body but of sound mind and memory and calling to mind the mortality of my Body do ordain this to be my last will and testament as followeth
Imprimis I give my body to the Earth from whence it was taken in full assurance of its ressurrection as for my burial I direct it may be decent at the discretion of my executors hereafter named and as to my worldly estate I will and positively order in manner as followeth
Imprimas I give unto my well beloved son Nathan Reeve all my land and buildings also my meadow lying at Saw Mill Brook and all my out doors moveables to him his heirs and assigns forever.
Item I give unto my son Ezra Reeve and to him and to his heirs and assigns forever a certain small Island of meadow Ground lying in Peaconack River it being the west Island East of Cornals Island in sd River
Item I give unto my daughter Jerusha Reeve the sum of fifteen pounds to be paid by my son Nathan Reeve
Item I give unto my daughter Cata Reeve the sum of fifteen pounds to be paid by my son Nathan Reeve
Item I give unto my daughter Hannah the sum of fifteen pounds to be paid her by my son Nathan Reeve.
Item I give unto my well beloved wife Mary Reeve all my household furniture and indoores moveables also my will is that my above named daughters have a home in the house as long as they remain unmarried.
Lastly I appoint my well beloved wife and my son Nathan Reeve to be my lawfull Exrs of this my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty second day of April in the year of Lord eighteen hundred and nine In presence of us Benjn L'Hommedieu Jun

Suffolk County } SS: Be it remembered that on the sixteenth day of January in the year one thousand eight hundred and fifteen personally came and appeared before Nicoll Floyd Surrogate of the said County Noah Youngs of Riverhead in the county aforesaid and being duly sworn on his oath declared that he saw Hezekiah Reeve sign and seal an instrument in writing purporting to be the will of the said Hezekiah Reeve bearing date the Twenty second of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and nine the preceeding whereof is a true copy and heard him publish and declare the same as and for his last will and testament that at the time thereof he the said Hezekiah Reeve was of sound disposing mind and memory to the best of the knowledge and belief of him the deponent and that his name subscribed to the said will is of his own proper hand writing which he subscribed and that he saw Benjamin LHommedieu and Rufus Youngs Junr sign their names as witnesses thereto at the same time in presence of the testator
