THIS INDENTURE made this 12th day of February in the year of our Lord one Thousand Eight hundred and Eleven between Archibald Reeves of the County of orange and State of North Carolina of the one part and Edmond & Michell Maughon of the County of Chatham and State aforesaid of the other part witnesseth that the said Archibald Reives (sic) for and in consideration of the Sum of Seven hundred and fifty dollars to him in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained and Sold unto the Said Edmond & Michell Maughon a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the County of Chatham on the west Side of New Hope Creek & Beginning at a white oak in Robert Parkers line Ruining the various Courses of New hope Creek to Jones’s corner a white oak thence South to Redfield Road thence up said Road westerly to the North and South line thence North to a post oak in Parkers line thence East 80 poles across a Creek to the first Station Containing two hundred acres the Same more or less to have and to hold the said Lands a Second parcel bounded as follows(viz) Beginning at a pine in the former tract Runing South 180 poles along Said line thenSigned Sealed and delivered } Archibald Reeves (Seal)
