In the name of God Amen, I Susannah Reeves of Charles County being very sick and weak in body, But of perfect mind and memory blessed be to God for the Same, do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following, to wit, I give and bequeath my soul to God who gave it me, hoping through the merits of Jesus Christ to receive pardon and full remission of all my Sins and my body I commit to the earth from whence it came to be buryed in such deacent (sic) manner as my Executors hereafter named shall think fit, and for the Estate it hath pleased God to bless me with, I give and dispose thereof in manner and form following, vizt., my will and desire is that my son Horatio Reeves has and Shall hereafter possess one negro Boy named Alexander, and also one Bed and furniture - I give & bequeath to my daughter Cecilia Reeves one negro Girl named Moriah and all her future increase also one Bedstead, Bed and furniture, I likewise give and bequeath to my son James Wilson Reeves, one negro Girl named Betty and all her future increase, likewise one Bedstead Bed and furniture - Lastly my will and desire is that the balance of my property consisting of one negro woman named Mary and all the rest of the property that I am now possessed or may be possessed with when I die Shall all be Sold, and the money arising therefrom, first that all my Just debts Shall be first and foremost paid and the balance to be equally divided amongst the balance of my Children - Lastly I constitute and appoint my Son Horatio Reeves and Meshach Howell to be Executors of this my last will and testament in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this twenty third day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight Hundred and thirteen -

On the back of the aforegoing will it is thus written, to wit
Charles County Sct. April 6th, 1813 Then came Horatio Reeves Executor of Susannah Reeves late of Charles County deceased and made oath on the Holy Evangely (sic) of almighty God that the aforegoing instrument of writing is the true and whole last will and testament of said deceased that hath come to his hands or possession and that he doth not know of any other -

Charles County Sct. April 6th, 1813 Then came John C. Reeves and Ubgate Reeves two of the Subscribing witnesses to the within last will and testament of Susannah Reeves late of Charles County deceased and made oath on the Holy Evangely of almighty God that they did see the testatrix therein named Sign and Seal this will and that they heard her publish, pronounce and declare the same to be her last will and testament that at the time of her so doing she was to the best of their apprehensions of Sound and disposing mind memory and understanding and that they together with Joseph C. Montgomery the other Subscribing witness respectively Subscribed their names as witnesses to this will in the presence and at the request of the testatrix and in the presence of each other -
