This Indenture made this Twenty Eight day of January one thousand eight hundred and seventeen Between Spencer Reeves Elijah Reeves Benjamin Reeves & William Rise and Elizabeth his wife Peggy Reeves Rody Reeves Thomas Reeves Anthony Worley and Janny his wife of the one part and all lawful heirs of Elijah Reeves Deceased and John Mahana of Bourben County of the other part all of Fleming County and State of Kentucky except Thomas Reeves and Anthony Worley and His wife which is of the State of Ohio County Wilnes that the said Spencer Reeves Elijah Reeves Benjamin Reeves William Roys and his wife Elizabeth Thomas Reeves Peggy Reeves Ridy Reeves and Anthony Werley and Jenny his wife both for and in consideration of the sum of one dollar to them in hand paid the receipt is hereby acknowledged before the signed of this indenture hath granted bargained sold to and doth by these presents grant relees convey and confirm unto John Mahana his heirs and assigns forever a certain track or parcel of land being part of Mosbeys 30000 acre survey and part of lot number eleven on boxes creek in Fleming County and bounded as follows to wit Beginning at a sycamore cherry and elm thence North one hundred and ten poles with Benjamin Reeves line to two white oaks standing on Mansbeys line thence east with said line one hundred and forty six poles to two chesnut oaks one hundred and ten poles to a white oak thence south thense west one hundred and forty six poles to the beginning to contain one hundred acres To have and to hold the above premises and every part and benefit of the same to John Mahany his heirs and assigns forever and the sd Spencer Reeves Elijah Reeves Benjamin Reeves William Roys and his wife and Thos Reeves Peggy Reeves Rody Reeves and Anthony Worly and Jenny his wife will forever warrant and Defend the above premises to John Mahana his heirs forever from themselves their heirs and every person under by on therein thence but from no other person or claim whatever and it is the true intent and clearly understood that if ever the said John Mahanes should evicted from the sd premises by any person or persons whatsoever that the sd Spencer Reeves Elijah Reeves Benjamin Reeves William Roys and his wife Elizabeth Thos Reeves Peggy Reeves Rody Reeves Anthony Worley and Jenny Worley his wife is and shall be forever aquitted from any damages whatsoever and is hearby known that the true intent of the indenture is to convey Elijah Reeves Deceased the title to the sd John Mahana agreeable to a former purchase that said William Roys maid of the above mentioned tract of land from Elijah Reeves Deceased Given by and under our hands and seals

I Alexr S Lyle Deputy for Joshua Stockton Clerk of the court for said County do certify that the foregoing Indenture of Bargain and sale from Spencer Reeves and lawful heirs of Elijah Reeves decd he John Mahana was on this day of June 1817 produced before me proved by the oath of Benjamin Reeves a witness thereto and on this day was proved by the oath of James Tinsley another subscribing witness thereto and is together with this certificate duly recorded in said office given under my hand the 14th day of June 1817
