This Indenture made this twenty fifth day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & seventeen between Thomas Reeves Elijah Reeves Spencer Reeves Benjamin Reeves, William Royse, Elizabeth his wife and Anthony Worley & Jinney his wife Peggy Reeves, Rody Reeves & Peggy Reeves Senr widow of Elijah Reeves deceased all of Fleming County & State of Kentucky except Thomas Reeves & Anthony Worley & Jinny his wife of the State of Ohio & County Sciota of the one part all lawful heirs of Elijah Reeves and Elisha Hurd of the other part of Fleming County State of Kentucky witnesses the said Thomas Reeves Elijah Reeves Spencer Reeves William Royse & Elizabeth Royse Anthony Worley & Jinny his wife Peggy Reeves Rody Reeves & Peggy Reeves Senr have for and in consideration of the sum of one dollar to them in hand paid by said Hurd before the signing of the indenture the receipt is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained * sold & doth (?) grant release and confirm unto Elisha Hurd his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land being part Littleberry Mosby survey of thorty thousand acre survey and part of said lot number eleven and bounded as follows, to wit, Beginning at a cherry tree, boulders & shell barbed hickory near a branch hence north ninety poles to five maples from one (?) Thence west ninety poles to a shell bark hickory and red oak thence north sixty degrees west twenty six poles to a sycamore stake? on Rock Lick creek corner to Benjamin Reeves thence down the creek as it meanders with said Reeves line to a small water (?) & shell bark hickory thence South ninety poles to a poplar and hickory in the line between the lot number eleven and twelve thence east eighty poles to a white oak at a Buffalo Lick thence south ten poles to a white oak and black gum thence east to the Beginning containing one hundred acres be the same less or more the aforesaid premises to have and to hold with all singular the appurtenances thereunto the said Hurd his heirs and assigns forever from the said Thomas Reeves Elijah Reeves Spencer Reeves, Benjamin Reeves, William Royse & Elizabeth his wife & Anthony Worley with Jenny his wife, Peggy Reeves, Rody Reeves & Peggy Reeves the relict of Elijah Reeves deceased themselves their heirs &c now it is fairly understood by the parties herein mentioned that if the said Hurd shall ever be evicted from the said premises by a prior claim that he the said Hurd shall have no recourse or renumeration from them the said Thomas Reeves Elijah Reeves Spencer Reeves, Benjamin Reeves, William Royse with Elizabeth his wife Anthony Worley with Jenny his wife, Peggy Reeves, Rody Reeves & Peggy Reeves the relict of Elijah Reeves deceased that they have sold the above mentioned premises at a reduced price for the purpose of being acquitted therefrom forever and they do only warrant the same only from themselves their heirs &c but not from claim or claims any other persons, they likewise fully authorize said E Hurd to make use of these named in any suit that may hereafter commence under any claim but what they now sell and if the said E Hurd shall succeed in such case all money that shall be thus obtained will & shall by these presents be to the only proper use and behoof of the said E Hurd.

Fleming County Clerk office August third eighteen hundred and eighteen - I James Crawford Deputy clerk of the Court for the County aforesaid certify that the deed of conveyance from the heirs of Elijah Reeves deceased to Elisha Hurd was this day produced efore me and proven by the oaths of Elijah Hurd & Thomas Reeves witnesses thereto subscribed to be the act & deed hand & seal of Thomas Reeves Elijah Reeves, William Royse Benjamin Reeves Peggy Reeves Senr Rody Reeves & Peggy Reeves & is duly recorded in my office
