Transcript

In the Name of God Amen whereas I Eli Reeves of the township of Northampton in the County of Burlington and in the Western division of the State of New Jersey, being very low in bodily health but of sound mind and memory do make ad publish this as my last will and Testament
First. It is my will and I do order that all my just debts and funeral expences be paid as soon as my conveniently be done after my decease
Secondly I give and bequeath unto my dear wife Amy Reeves during her widowhood the House and lot of land whereon I now dwell and the same is situate in Gaskell Lane in the Township of Northampton and Bounded on the East by Frances Puckit and on the north by Samuel J Read on the west by said Read and on the south by said Gaskil lane containing about three roods of land
Thirdly It is my will and I do order that in case of the marriage of my said dear wife or at the decease of her as my widow that then in either of the said cases the said house and lot be sold to the best advantage and the money arising from the sales thereof be equally divided between my children and heirs at law equally share and share alike.
Fourthly I do give and bequeath unto my said dear wife one feather bed and bedding to equip the same the bed to be as her choice of the beds belonging to me ad a half a dozen chairs as her choice and a case of walnut drawers and also one walnut stand and all the queens ware and tea ware and all the provisions that is on hand at my decease and knives and forks and spoons and the two Barrels that now contains the fish a five gallon keg and the same to be full of vinegar and it is my will that the articles contained in this clause be the property of my said dear wife to her and at her disposal.
Fifthly all the residue of my affects of what kind soever either real or personal I do order and direct that my executors herein named will sell and dispose of the same and convert the same to the payment of my debts as above expressed
And Lastly I do make constitute and appoint my said dear wife Amy Reeve and my Brother Abraham Reeve as my executor of this my last will and Testament. In testimony whereof I do hereunto set my hand and seal the fourth day of the sixth month in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighteen.

Joel Reeves and Zachariah Reeves two of the witnesses to the aforewritten will alleging themselves to be conscientiously scrupulous of taking an oath and being duly affirmed according to law declare and say that they saw Eli Reeve, the testator therein named deceased sign and seal the same and heard him publish pronounce and declare the aforegoing writing to be his last will and testament that at the time of the doing thereof the said testator was of sound and disposing mind and memory so far as these affirmants know and as they verily believe and that Daniel Wills the other subscribing evidence was present at the same time and signed his name as a witness to the said will together with these affirmants in the presence of the said testator
