William Reves Deed to William Burton 220 acresThis Indenture made this 7th day of January Anno Domini one thousand Eight hundred and nineteen between William Reves and William Burton both of the County of Ashe and State of North Carolina witnesseth, that he the Said William Reves for and in consideration of the Sum of two hundred and Seventy five Dollars to him in hand paid by the Said William Burton the receipt whereof the Said William Reves doth hereby acknowledge, and himself therewith fully Satisfied and paid, hath granted, bargained and Sold unto the Said William Burton his heirs and assigns forever a tract of land Supposed to be two hundred and twenty acres be the Same more or less, lying and being in the County aforesaid on the East Fork of Elk Creek a Branch of New River Beginning at a Crab Apple and Cherry tree on the East Side of Said creek, runing South to a conditional line between Said Reves and Said Burton, then along Said line to the South west corner of Said trace, then East one hundred & Eighty Eight Poles crossing Said creek to a white oak, then North one hundred and Seventy Poles to a Stake, then west one hundred & Eighty Eight Poles to the first Station, Together with every right, title, priviledge and emolument to the Said land belonging or in any wise appertaining and he the Said William Reves doth bind himself his heirs and well and truly to warrant and ever defend the aforesaid premises with all its appertainances (sic) to him the Said William Burton his heirs and assigns forever free and clear of all incumberances (sic), and claims whatsoever, In witness whereof the William Reves hath hereunto Set his hand and Seal this day and date above written, Signed, Sealed and delivered in presents of
