This Indenture made this 9th day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & twenty between Anderson M. Waddill of the Town of Leaksville of the one part, and Nathaniel Reives of the county of Rockingham & State of North Carolina of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Anderson M. Waddill for and in consideration of the sum of Seven hundred dollars to him in hand paid, at and before the ensealing & delivery of these presents the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged – hath bargained, Sold, aliened, enfeoffed & confirmed, and by these presents doth bargain, Sell, alien, enfeoff and confirm unto the said Nathaniel Reives his heirs Executors administrators and assigns for ever Two tracts or parcels of Land and premises with the appurtenances lying and being in the county of Rockingham, and bounded as follows: one tract lying on the Marrowbone road bounded by Grogans, Jesse Harris & John Price’s land – containing one hundred acres be the same more or less, it being the tract purchased by said Waddill of Polley Sanders, reference to which Deed is had for greater certainty, the other tract lying on Smiths River bounded by the lands of Robert Brodnax & others containing two hundred acres be the same more or less; it being the tract purchased by said Waddill of Polley Saunders reference to which deed is had for greater certainty, to have and to hold the aforesaid tracts or parcels of land to the said Nathaniel Rieves his heirs & assigns for ever: And the said Anderson M. Waddill for himself his heirs & assigns doth hereby covenant and agree with the said Nathaniel Rives his heirs & assigns in manner & form following that is to say that he the said Anderson M. Waddill his heirs & assigns the title to the aforesaid land and premises with the appurtenances to the said Nathaniel Rives his heirs & assigns against the claims of all person or persons whatever will by these presents for ever warrant & defend. In Testimony whereof the said Anderson M. Waddill has hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal the day and year above written. ~
