State of North Carolina Orange County July 16th 1823 ~Know all men by these presents that I James Reeves of the County of Orange & State of North Carolina for & in Consideration of thirty five dollars paid to him in hand do Sell & grant unto Henry Lloyd of the State & County aforesaid Fifty Acres of Land lying on the Waters of Morgans Creek adjoining the lands of George Reeves, Stephen Lloyd & his own Begining at a Stake & pointers Corner of George Reeves Senr. on Stephen Lloyds line runing thence with said line North twenty chains to a Hickory on said line, thence West twenty five chains to a black Jack, thence South twenty chains to a Stake & pointers on said line James Reeves line, thence with said line East twenty five chains to the begining: as by the plat hereunto annexed doth appear together with all woods, waters, mines, minerals hereditaments & appurtenances to the said Land belonging or appertaining to hold to the said Henry Lloyd his heirs & assigns forever And the said James Reeves doth Warrent (sic) & defend from all lawful claims or incumbrances (sic) unto the said Henry Lloyd his heirs & assigns forever ~ Whereunto we have Subscribed our names as Witnesses ~
