Transcript

In the Name of God Amen I Abraham Reeve of the township of Northampton County of Burlington and State of New Jersey being weake of body but of sound disposing mind and memory do make and publish this my testament and last Will
First I authorize my executor herein after named to sell and dispose of all my personal estate and also all the grain and grass that may be growing on the land I have herein after devised to my brother Thomas Reeve at the time of my decease. I also authorize my executor to sell and dispose of a lott of cedar swamp above Burr? mill and to make and execute good and sufficient title for the same, the proceeds of the said moveable estate and cedar swamp to be applied first to the payment of my debts funeral charges and expences
Secondly one hundred and fifty dollars to my wife Levina and fifty dollars to George Hasbour provided he make no charge against my estate. To Aesaph Cook Lydia Webb Elizabeth Stern Rebecca Thompson Hosea Reeve & Ann Reeve each fifty dollars and a further sum of fifty dollars to George Harbour to be paid them in the order that they are named and the residue of the money if any to be paid to my Brother Thomas Reeve; But in case there should not be a sufficiency of money arising from the sales as above directed to pay my just debts and legacies as before mentioned, then the same to be paid by my Brother Thomas Reeve out of the lands I have devised him the debts if any, the one hundred and fifty dollars to my wife, in one year after my decease, and the first fifty dollars to George Harbour in three years and the remaining legacies as above bequeathed at the decease of my wife.
Item I give and devise unto my brother Thomas Reeve and to his heirs and assigns all the residue of my Real Estate under the following provisions and restrictions (1st) that my said wife may if she thinks proper occupy two rooms in the new part of my house one up stairs and the other down and to have priviledge of both kitchens oven well cellar first for her own use and garden for her necessary purposes also the use of my clock and ? and provide for her a sufficiency of firewood cut and carted to the doore all wich priviledges to enjoy for and during the time she remains my widow (2d) that he pays all the deficiencies wether of debts or bequests at the time or times before directed (3ly) that he pays unto my wife Levina an annuity of seventy dollars yearly and every year during her natural life (4th) that he pays unto Ann Zillai twenty dollars yearly and every year during the natural life of my wife Levina and after the decease of my wife Levina then to pay unto the said Ann Zillai the sum of eighty dollars yearly and every year during her natural life and at the decease of the same Ann Zillai unless she should have deceased before my wife pay unto her children the sum of fifteen hundred dollars to be equally divided between them and payable to those who shall have attained full age at the decease of their mother unless she should ? deceased before my wife and these in their minority when they shall have attained full age (5thly) that he pays unto Micajah Henderson after decease of my wife the sum of ten dollars yearly during his life
Item all my just debts bequeasts, annuities and other payments I have herein directed to be paid after the proceeds of the property I have directed to be sold to be and remain on lien? on the land I have herein devised to my brother Thomas Reeve untill paid
Item the bequests priviledges and annuities which I have bequeathed my wife is for and in lewe of her right of dower of in or to any of my estate real or personal
Item All which sums I have directed to be paid to the said Ann Zillai my intent being that the same shall not be payable to, or liable to the order of her husband
And lastly I appoint William Irick executor of this my last Will and Testament In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the seventh day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty five

I Abraham Reeve do make this codicill to the above Testament viz that in liew of the annuity of seventy dollars I have directed to be paid my wife Levina annually my will is that the same be eighty dollars annually during her natural life and I further give and bequeath unto my wife Lavina two pigs of her choice else all my pantry and that if she should see ease? to residuent? Mount Holly the firewood to be directed there
Item The bequests or annuity made to Micajah Henderson I hereby revoke and direct that nothing be paid him out of my estate. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this thirteenth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eighteen hundred and twenty five

James Barrett one of the witnesses to the within will alleging himself to be conscientiously scrupulous of taking an oath and being duly affirmed according to law doth declare & say that he saw Abraham Reeve the testator therein named deceased sign and seal the same and heard him publish, pronounce and declare the within writing to be his last will and testament; that at the time of the doing thereof the said testator was of sound and disposing mind and memory so far as this affirmant knows and as he verily believes; and that John M Cooke and Samuel Engle the other subscribing evidences were present at the same time & signed their names as witnesses to the same will together with this affirmant in the presence of the said testator.
