Narrative
Abraham wrote his will on 7 Jun 1825, then added a codicil on 13 August and it was proved 3 Oct 1825. He mentions his wife Levina and brother Thomas Reeve. He gave fifty dollars each to the following but does not name the relationship: Aesaph Cook, Lydia Webb, Elizabeth Stern, Rebecca Thompson, Hosea Reeve & Ann Reeve. An Ann Zillai was also provided for in the will.Lavina's will is dated 13 Jul 1846 and was proved 9 Aug 1851. She names siblings and nieces in the will. It appears therefore that Abraham and Lavina likely had no children who survived to adulthood.
Abraham and Levina are both buried in the Old Lumberton Cemetery although the dates don't seem to be readable from the available photos. A published transcription states:
- In memory of LAVINA REEVE, wife of Abraham Reeve, Dec., and daughter of John and Sabillah Ha(blank)man, Dec. Born May 22, 1773. Died July 20, 1851.
- In memory of ABRAHAM REEVE, who departed this life Sept. 19th, 1825. Aged 69 years and 5 months.
Research Notes
Abraham would appear to be a close relative of Moses Reeve as several of Moses's children are listed in Abraham's will. This appears to be the son of Micajah Reeve but needs further research to verify.
