John H. Reavis § This Indenture made and confirmed this 22nd day of July
to § One Thousand Eight hundred and twenty five between
Edward Rigsbee § John H. Reavis of the County of Wake and State of North Carolina of the first part and Edward Rigsbee of the said County and State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said John H. Reavis for and in consideration of the Sum of Eight hundred dollars to him in hand paid before the ensealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof doth acknowledge himself paid satisfied & contended and paid hath given granted, Bargained sold and confirmed unto Edward Rigsbee his heirs etc one certain tract of Land, situate and lying and being in the County aforesaid and on the Waters of the Jumping Branch Containing One hundred and forty five Aces be the same more or less and bounded as follows. (Viz) Beginning at a Black Gum John Roger’s corner on Muns old Road, thence with the said Road 162 poles to a to a (sic?) post oak on said Road East by a line of marked trees 106 poles to a small pine No. 200 poles to a large white oak thence West 62 poles to the Road leading from Parkers Bridge to Joseph Brasfields thence along the said Road 94 poles, to a red oak, thence — West 26 poles to the first Station. To have and to hold, the aforesaid land and premises with every of its appurtenances thereunto belonging and he the sd. John H. Reavis his heirs etc. of in and to the said land and premises with every appurtenances I the said John H. Reavis do and will Warrant & forever defend the right of said land and premises unto the said Edward Rigsbee his heirs & assigns forever in Witness whereof I the said John H. Reavis do hereunto set my hand and Seal the day and year above written.
