Transcript

This is the last Will and Testament of Me Joseph Reeve of Writtle in the County of Essex Farmer.
I give and devise unto my son Joseph Reeve all that my Freehold estate or Farm situate in Little Laver and High Laver in the said County consisting of a messuage, Barn and other outhouses now in his occupation and about thirty acres of land (more or less) thereto belonging and occupied therewith which I heretofore purchased (and hereby intending all that I did purchase) of Mr Benjamin Dowswell, to hold the same to him my said son Joseph for and during the term of his natural life and from and after his decease I give and devise the same to my Grandson Joseph (son of the said Joseph Reeve) and to his heirs and assigns, but my will and mind is that if my said Grandson Joseph should die in his father's lifetime leaving no children by him lawfully begotten then I revoke such devise to him and do give and devise the said freehold estate and premises unto my Granddaughter Sarah (daughter of my said son Joseph Reeve) and to her heirs and assigns forever - And I give and devise to my son Samuel Reeve all that my other freehold estate or farm situate in Little Laver aforesaid consisting of a Barn, and Premises (occupied as above) and about Forty acres of land (more or less) thereto belonging and occupied therewith which I sometime since purchased (And hereby intending all that I did purchase) of Mr William Cozens, to hold the same to him my said son Samuel Reeve and to his heirs and assigns for ever
All and singular other my estates whether Freehold Leasehold Real or Personal whatsoever and whatsoever (they paying my just debts and funeral expences) I give unto my said two sons Joseph Reeve and Samuel Reeve equally and to their respective heirs executors Administrators and assigns and I do hereby make constitute and appoint them my said two sons Joseph and Samuel joint executors of this my will and revoking all former or other will or wills by me made - I do make and declare this my last will and Testament In witness whereof I the said Joseph Reeve (the testator) have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty first day of August in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and twelve.
