Transcription

This Indenture made this 9th day of December one thousand eight hundred and twenty five between Asa Cummins of Stokes County and State of North Carolina of the one part and Charles Reves of sd. County and State of the other part Witness that the said Asa Cummins for and in consideration of the sum of five hundred dollars current money of said State to him in hand paid by the said Charles Reves the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted, bargained sold and delivered and by these presents do grant bargain sell and deliver unto the said Charles Reves a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the said County of Stokes on little Snow Creek Beginning on a hornbeam tree on sd creek running north one hundred and ninety pole to a post thence east one hundred and forty four pole to a beach tree thence south one hundred and forty four pole to a read oake thence west fifty two pole to three Spanish oaks thence south forty four pole to an elm tree on sd creek thence up said creek as it meanders to the beginning, containing one hundred and fifty four acres be it the same more or less being a part of a survey of six hundred and forty acres made for Henry Tilley Senr by John Duncan lying between Henry Tilley Junr his line and John Sams line together with all the right title claim & interest of the said Asa Cumming of in and to the said tract of land and premises to have and to hold unto the said Charles Reves his heirs and assigns forever and the said Asa Cumming doth for himself his heirs or executors, and administrators covenant and agree to and with the said Charles Reves that he the said Charles Reves his heirs and assigns shall and may forever hereafter peaceably and quietly have hold occupy enjoy and possess the above described tract or parcel of land and premises with every part articles and appurtenances thereunto belonging free and clear from all (?) hindrance molestation or incumbrance whatsoever from him the sd Asa Cummings or his heirs & executors or administrators binding and obliging himself and every of them the said land and premises with every part and title thereunto pertaining against himself and every of them and against all other persons whatsoever unto sd Charles Reves his heirs heirs (sic) assigns to warrant and forever defend in witness whereof the sd. Asa Cummings hath hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal, dated the date and year above named.
