                    Deed 250 Acres of Land

This Indenture made and entered into this sixth day of January One thousand eight hundred and twenty six between James T. Morehead of the County of Rockingham and state of North Carolina of the first part and George Wilson of the county of Pittsylvania and commonwealth of Virginia of the second part. Whereas Micajah C Moorman and Robert Martin became security to the said John Reives decd in a bond executed to the state bank of N Carolina originally for the sum of four Thousand dollars but which had been curtailed by installments thereon paid to the sum of about two thousand seven hundred dollars and the said Robert Martin for and in consideration that Nathl & William Rieves would indemnify him against any loss that he might sustain as security aforesaid release to Micajah C Moorman all liability as a Security to the said bond and also Gave up an indemnifying bond to him executed by the said Micajah Moorman in pursuance of which a payment the said Nathl & Willliam Rieves (sic) executed to James T. Morehead, on the 12th of April 1826 a deed of Trust and certain piece or parcel of Land (among other things) hereafter described upon Trust nevertheless that if the said Nathl & William Rieves or their legal representatives should fail to pay the said debt of two thousand seven hundred dollars and the Interest that might thereon acrue (sic) by the first of September next following it Should then be lawfull for the said James T. Moreland an application of the said Robert Martin or his representatives to procede to sell the said property first having advertised the time of sale at least thirty days before the day of sale, and default having been made in payment of said bond on the day agreed on the said James T. Morehead proceded to expose to public sale on the premises on the 2nd day of January 1826. An application of the said Robert Martin for ready money the said Tract of land when and where George Wilson became the last and highest bidder at the price of two thousand Three hundred and twenty three dollars and 82/100 now therefore the Indenture witnesseth that James T. Morehead for and in consideration of the current Two thousand three hundred & seventy three dollars and and (sic) thirty two cents to him in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath Given Granted bargained sold conveyed and confirmed and by these presents doth Give Grant bargain sell convey and confirm to George Wilson his heirs & assigns the following piece or parcel of Land situate lying and being in the County of Rockingham and bounded as follows, to wit, Beginning at the center of the road leading to the Island ford on smith river thence up the road south 68 degrees west one hundred and two poles thence with the road south 77 degrees west forty poles thence south 70 degrees west still up the road fifty eight poles to a stone in the road thence south 3 degrees east with Nathl W. Henry’s line and one hundred and seventy nine poles to a white oak thence east crossing one branch one hundred and ninety poles thence east – degree north go three and a half poles to a small post oak bush then north twelve and a half poles to a black oak thence north 2 degrees West crossing one fork of Dry Creek two hundred and twenty eight poles to the first Station containing Two hundred and fifty acres of land be the more or less
          To have and to hold the said Piece or parcel of Land to the said George Wilson his heirs and assigns forever and the said James T. Morehead his heirs and assigns doth covenant and agree with the said George Wilson his heirs and assigns to warrant and defend the said piece or parcel of Land together with all its appurtenances therewith belonging or in any wise appertaining against himself and against all persons whatever so far as he is empowered to as by virtue of his office as Trustee and no further In Witness whereof the said James T. Morehead Hath hereunto set his (hand) and seal the day and year first above Written
