Transcript

This is the last Will and Testament of me Benjamin Reeve of Saffron Walden in the County of Essex Coachman First I give and bequeath unto my honored mother Mary Reeve widow the sum of Twenty pounds of lawful money of Great Britain to and for her own proper use also I give and bequeath unto my two Brothers James Reeve and Joseph Reeve all ad every my linen and wearing apparel equally to be divided between them share and share alike also I give and bequeath unto my only child Mary Reeve the sum of sixty pouds of lawful money aforesaid to be paid to her when she shall attain her age of twenty one years and my will is and I do hereby direct my executor hereinafter named to pay and apply the interest thereof in the meantime towards the brining up maintenance and support of her my said Daughter in such manner as he shall think proper. And in case of the death of my said Daughter under the age of twenty one years without leaving lawful issue then I give and bequeath the said principal sum of sixty pounds and all interest thereof which shall remain unapplied unto and to be equally divided between and amongst my loving wife Rebecca and my said Brothers James and Joseph Reeve and my sister Sarah the wife of George Tant share and share alike. I likewise give and bequeath unto my said Daughter my watch. And from and after payment of my just debts funeral and testamentary expences and the legacies aforesaid I give and bequeath all the rest residue and remainder of my monies and securities for money goods chattles personal estate and effects whatsoever and wheresoever unto my said wife to and for her own proper use and I nominate constitute and appoint John Good of Saffrom Walden aforesaid Gentleman Executor of this my Will and hereby revoking all former wills by me made I declare this only to be my last Will and Testament in Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this fifth Day of April one thousand eight hundred and twenty seven

This is a codicil to the last Will and Testament of me Benjamin Reeve of Saffron Walden in the County of Essex coachman bearing date the fifth Day of this instant month of April - Whereas I have by my said Will and bequeathed certain legacies to my mother Mary Reeve and my Daughter Mary and others and have given the residue of my monies personal estate to my wife Rebecca for her own use - Now I do give and bequeath out of the said residue the sum of ten pounds to my nephew Benjamin Hagger the son of my sister Ann Hagger widow to be paid to him at his age of twentyone years - and the remainder to go to my said wife as in my said will is mentioned.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 19th Day of April 1827

John Good the sole executor above named was sworn to the truth of this will and the codicil annexed thereto and to the due performance thereof that the deceased died in the 5th day of May instant and that the whole of the goods chattles and credits of the said deceased do not amount in value to the sum of two hundred pounds

Proved (with codicil annexed) on the first and second day of June in the year of our Lord 1827 before the Red Nicholas Bull Clk Surrogate & by the both of John Good the sole extor to whom admon was granted he being first sworn duly to admr.
