Transcript

I Elizabeth Reeves of the town of Mount Holly in the township of Northampton County of Burlington and State of New Jersey being now advanced in age and feble in body but of a sound and disposing mind and memory do make and publish this for my last will and Testament in manner and form as follows, that is to say
First. It is my will and desire that my executor herein after named collect all moneys due to my estate and pay all my just debts and funeral expences as soon after my decease as may be convenient
Second. I give and devise unto my daughter Sarah Cox all my wereing apperal except one silk shaul and I also give her one dark bed quilt one comfortable and also the sum of fifty dollars
Third. I give and devise unto my daughter Hannah Reeves the sum of fifty dollars
Fourth. I give and devise unto my daughter Martha Reeves all my household goods and furniture bed and beding and all things thereunto belonging (except one dark bed quil and one comfortable (which has been heretofore mentioned)
Fifth. I do hereby give and devise unto my granddaughter Elizabeth Haines the sum of fifty dollars to be paid to her Father William Haines as Guardian and to be paid unto her by her said Father when she shall arive to the age of eighteen years old both principal and Interest that may arise
Sixth. It is my will and I do hereby order my executor herein after named to pay all the above described legacys out of the money belonging to my estate and all the residue then remaining in his hands I do direct him to pay unto my two daughters Elizabeth Chrispin and Martha Reeves equally share and share alike.
Seventh. It is my will and I do give unto my sister Mary Shaffer my silk shaul
Lastly I do hereby nominate and appoint my esteemed friend Job Bishop my executor to this my last will and Testament
As witness my hand and seal this sixth day of fifth month in the of our Lord eighteen hundred thirty

Thomas Edman one of the witnesses to the within will aleging himself to be conscientiously scrupulous of taking an oath & being solemnly affirmed according to law doth declare & say that he saw Elizabeth Reeves the testatrix therein named deceased sign & seal the same & heard her publish pronounce and declare the within writing to be her last will and testament, that at the time of the doing thereof the said testatrix was of sound & disposing mind & memory so far as this affirmant knows & as he verily believes and that Daniel Coppuck the other subscribing evidence was present at the same time & signed his name as a witness to the said will together with this affirmant in the presence of the sd testatrix
