Transcript

In the Name of God, Amen. I Robert Reeves, formerlly of Hopewell in the County of Hunterdon, & State of New Jersey, now residing in New hope in the State of Pennsylvania. Being of sound mind & memory, and being mind full of my mortality, Do make and Declare this to be my last Will and Testament in the manner and form following first, I resign my soul into the hands of Almighty God, hoping and believing in a remission of my sins by the merits and mediation of Jesus Christ. And my body I commit to the earth to be buried at the direction of my executor herein after named, And my worldy estate I give and devise as follows.
First, I Direct and Desire that all my just debts and funeral expences shall be paid out of my moveable estate.
Secondly, I give and Devise unto my dear wife, Elizabeth all my estate both real & personally to have and to hold and use for her benefitt, during her natural life.
Thirdly, At and after the Decease of my said wife I give and bequeath unto my son Andrew Reeves, and to his heirs, share & share alike after first taking out one bed & beding which I give & divise unto my GrandDaughter Sarah Ann Reeves All the residue of my said estate as above Directed & the same to be divided by my executor.
Fourthly, I do hereby constitute and appoint Philip Marshall, of Lambertsville in the County of Hunterdon & State of New Jersey, my sole executor, of this my Last Will and Testament.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this sixth day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty

Hunterdon Philip Marshall Esq sole executor of the within named Robert Reeves decd being duly sworn according to law doe depose and say, that the within instrument contains the true last will and testament of Robert Reeves, the testator therein named, as far as this deponent knows, and as he verily believes; that he will well & truly perform the same by paying first the debts of the said decd and then the legacies in the said testament therein so far as the goods Chattels & credits of the said decd can thereunto extent; and that he will make & exhibit unto the surrogates office at Huntington a true & perfect inventory of all & singular the goods chattels & credits of the said decd that have or shall come to his knowledge or possession or to the possession of any other person or persons for his use and render a just and true account thereof when thereunto lawfully required.

Hunterden William G Van Horn, one of the witness to the within will, being duly sworn did depose and say, that he saw, Robert Reeves, the testator therein named, sign and seal the same and heard him publish pronounce & declare the within instrument to be his Last Will & Testament: that at the doing thereof, the said testator was of sound & disposing mind and memory, as far as this deponent knows, and as he verily believes and that Samuel H Edwards & Joseph Hill, the other subscribing evidences were present at the same time, & signed their names as witnesses to the said will was present at the same time, and signed their names as witnesses to the said will, together with the deponent in the presence of the said testator.
