Transcript

This Indenture of bargain and Sale made and entered into this sixth day of August one thousand eight hundred and thirty two between Benjamin Reeves of the County of Bedford and State of Tennessee of the one part and Isham Reeves of the County and State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said Benjamin Reeves hath bargained and sold unto the said Isham Reeves a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the County of Bedford and State of Tennessee and on Duck Rover for the valuable consideration of the sum of three hundred Dollars to him in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged and him the said Isham Reaves forever exonerated and aqcuited. Beginning at a Sycamore and Bardder on the South bank of Duck River adjoining the land of James Newsom Running South one hundred and thirty, and one fourth poles to a stake near a Dogwood and sugartree marker ad ___ thence East thereby two and one fourth poles to cedar and sugartree thence north one hundred and thirty six poles to a Sycamore on said Duck River thence down the meanders of the same to the beginning containing by estimation thirty acres and a half. To have and to hold to the said Isham his heirs or assigns forever. And I the said Benjamin Reaves for myself my heirs Executors and administrators well and truly warrant and defend the right and title of the aforesaid tract or parcel of land unto the said Isham Reaves his heirs executors or administrators against the lawful claim or claims of all and every other person or persons. In testimony whereof I the said Benjamin Reaves have hereunto set my hand and seal in the day and year first above written.

I James McKisuck Clerk of the Court of pleas and quarter sessions for the county aforesaid do hereby certify that the creation of the foregoing deed of Conveyance from Benjamin Reaves to Isham Reaves was acknowledged in open court by the said Benjamin Reaves and ordered to be certified for Registration Given under my hand at office in Shelbyville this 8th August 1832
