Transcript

This Indenture made this second day of January in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and thirty five By and Between Reuben Reeves of the State of Kentucky & County of Calloway of one part and Luddy Crutchfield of the County of Bedford & State of Tennessee of the other part Witnesseth that the said Reuben Reeves for and in consideration of the sum of Two hundred dollars to him in hand paid by the Sd Luddy Crutchfield the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath given Granted bargained sold conveyed & confirmed and by these presents doth Give grant bargain sell convey & confirm unto the said Luddy Crutchfield his heirs & assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land situate lying & being in the said County of Bedford on the waters of fall Creek it being four sevenths of a one hundred and six acre tract of land left by the will of William Reeves decd to his heirs & bounded as follows Beginning at Epps Taylors North west corner running East one hundred and sixty two poles to a hickory, thence North one hundred and ten poles to an Ironwood, thence west one hundred and two poles to a hickory thence South fourteen poles to a rock thence West sixty poles to a rock stake thence South to the beginning Containing one hundred and six acres more or less four sevenths is sixty acres & niety two poles more lr less to have & to hold with all and Singular the rights profits emoluments hereditaments and appurtenances of in & to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining to the only proper use of him the said Luddy Crutchfield his heirs & assigns forever & the sd Reuben Reeves for himself his heirs executors & administrators doth covenant & agree to & with the sd Luddy Crutchfield his heirs and assigns to warrant and forever defend the before described sixty acres & ninety two poles of land against the lawfull claim or claims of all & every person or persons whatever In witness whereof the said Reuben hath hereunto set his hand & affixed his seal the day & date above written. Personally appeared before me Wm D Orr Clerk of Bedford County Court Absalom Reeves on the 9th & Sion Damron on the 19th of January 1837 two of the Subscribing witnesses to the within deed who being respectively sworn depose & say that they are acquainted with Reuben Reeves the above named bargainer & that he acknowledged the same in their presence to be his act and deed upon the day the same bears date
