Transcript

This Indenture made this eight day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & thirty six By and between Absalom Reeves of the County of Bedford & State of Tennessee of the one part And Dudley Crutchfield of the County and State aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth, that the said Absalom Reaves for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars to him in hand paid by the said Dudley Crutchfield the receipt whereof is acknowledged, hath Given, Granted, bargained sold, conveyed and confirmed and by these presents doth give grant bargain, sell convey & confirm unto the said Dudley Crutchfield his heirs and assigns forever, a certain tract or parcel of land, situate, lying and being in the county of Bedford & State of Tennessee on the waters of Falling Creek it being three seventh of a one hundred and six acre tract of land left by the will of William Reaves deceased to his heirs & bounded as follows, Beginning at Esq Taylors North West corner, Running East one hundred & sixty two poles to a hickory, thence north one hundred & two poles to an ironwood, thence west one hundred and two poles to a hickory, thence South fourteen poles to a rock thence west sixty poles to a rock stake, thence south to the beginning containing one hundred and six acres, the three sevenths contains forty five acres sixty seven and a half poles more or less, To have & to hold with all and singular the rights profits, Emoluments, hereditaments and appurtenances of in and to the same belonging or on any wise appertaining to the only proper use of him the said Dudley Crutchfield his heirs and assigns forever. And the said Absalom Reaves for himself his heirs Executors and Administrators doth Covenant and agree to and with the said Dudley Crutchfield his heirs and assigns to warrant and forever defend the before described forty five acres & sixty seven 1/2 poles of land. Against the lawfull claim or claims of all and every person or persons whatever. In witness whereof the said Absalom Reaves hath hereunto set his hand and affixd his seal the day and date at the beginning written
