Lancaster District } Know all men by these presents that I Jas Reeves Sr of Lancaster Dist & State aforesaid for & in consideration of the sum of Five Hundred & forty six Dollars to me in hand paid by Jas Reeves Jr of the State & District aforesaid have bargained sold & released & by these presents do bargain sell & release a certain tract or parcel of land situate on the N Side of the South prong of Little Lynches Creek containing Two hundred fifty seven acres being a part of a tract or parcel of land purchased by me from Sterling Horton with lines running as follows. Beginning at a Black Oak on the N Bank of said creek thence N 25 E 19.50 to a Post oak, thence N 30 W 56.50 to a stake, thence S 28 W 50 to a dogwood thence along an old road to the creek, thence down the creek to the beginning corner. To have and to hold all & singular the rights, members, & hereditaments & all & singular the appurtenances in anywise belonging to the above named tract or parcel of land & I do hereby bind myself my heirs Excrs Admrs & assigns to warrant & forever defend the above named tract or parcel of land against myself Exrs Admrs & assigns or any person or persons lawfully claiming the same or any part thereof unto the said Jas Reeves Jr his heirs Admrs Excrs & assigns - In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal this 22 June 1836
