Transcription

This Indenture made the twenty fourth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and thirty Six Between James Reeves of the County of Hancock and State of Indiana of the first part and Levi Leary of Hancock State of aforesaid of the Second part Witnesseth that the Said James Reevs of the first part for and in Consideration of the Sum of one Dollar to him in hand paid by the Said party of the Second part the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted Bargained and Sold Conveyed and Confirmed and doth by these presents Grant bargain Sell convey and confirm the (word missing in original) unto Said party of the Second part and his heirs and assigns forever all that certain part of tract of Land Lying and being in the County of Hancock forty acres it Being S. W. qr of the SW qr of Section No. 4 in Township No-16 N of Range No 7 E Together with all the privaleges and appurtenances thereunto belonging and the reversions Remainders and profits thereof and all the Estate title and claim of the Said James Reevs in and to the Same to have and to hold the premises aforesaid with all the appurtenances to the only proper use Benefit and behoof of the Said Levi Leary his heirs and assigns forever and the Said James Reeves for himself his heirs Executors and administrators Doth Covenant grant Agree to and with the Said party of the Second part his heirs and assigns that he the Said James Reeves are Lawfully Seized in fee of the aforesaid premises that the Said premises are free from all incumberances that he the Said James Reeves Hath good right full power and Lawfull authority to Sell and convey the Same in manner and form aforesaid and that he will for himself his heirs executors and Administrators Shal warrant and Defend the Same to the Said Levi Leary his heirs and assigns forever against all Lawful Claims or claims of any person and all persons whomsoever In Witness whereof the Said James Reeves and Elizabeth Reeves the wife of James Reeves hath hereunto Set their hands and Seals the Day and year first above

Hancock County   §       Ss before me William Martindale a Justice of the peace within and for Said County personaly came James Reeves and Elizabeth Reeves his wife the grantors Named in the above Deed of conveyance and acknowledged the Same to be their voluntary act and Deed for the uses and purposes therein mentioned and the Said Elizabeth Reeves the wife of James Reeves having been by me examined Seperate and apart from the husband as required by Law touching the above Deed Declared that She Signed Sealed and Delivered the Same of her own Voluntary free will and accord without any compulsion from her husband and that she thereby relinquished all her right and Claim to Dowery in the Same premises In Testimony Whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and Seal this the ninth day of July Eighteen hundred and thirty Six
