Transcript

Know all men by these presents that we Thomas Rives Robert Rives & John Bahnkam are held and firmly bound unto Charles Bailey, chairman of the County Court of Montgomery, his sucessor or successees, survivor or survivors, his executors administrators or assigns in the sum of five thousand Dollars in trust for the benefit of Henry Rives, Jno. W. Rives, Rich. Rives, Robert Rives, Elizabeth Rives, James Rives, Reuben R. Rives, Rebecca Rives & Stephen Rives, for the payment of which we bind ourselves our heirs administrators executors & assigns jointly & severally firmly by these presents sealed with ourselves and dated this 4th day of September 1837
The ocndition of the above obligation is such that whereas Thomas Rives has been appointed Guardian to the said Henry Jno. W, Richard, Robert Elizabeth James Reuben R. Rebecca & Stephen Rives minor heirs of Stephen Rives decd now if the said Thomas Rives shall well and faithfully make true returns and settlements make with the county court of Montgomery agreably to law during his said Guardianship and at the expiration thereof shall well and faithfully account with the justice of the County Court of Montgomery and pay over to them or their order the profits of the said minor heirs as aforesaid that may come into his hands by virture of said Guardianship, together with the profits and the said Thomas Rives as aforesaid shall demean himself in all things relative to said Guardianship agreably to law and then this obligation to be void else to remain in full force and virtue in law.
