In the Name of God AmenI Asa Reeves being on the bed of affliction but of sound mind, knowing there is a time allotted for all men to die do make this my last Will and Testament
1st. I will my soul to God and my body to the dust from which it came.
2nd. I will that all of my just debts to be paid out of the proceeds of the present crop so much of it as can be spared after having a plentiful support for the ensuing hear for my family and the notes and accounts due me from others should this not be sufficient so much of the ensuing crops as will satisfy the whole the residue of any to revert to my Estate.
3rd. I will that my plantation negroes & stock farming tools and all other impliments thereto belonging should be kept together my wife Sarah Elizabeth Reeves to occupy my houses & supervise the farm in the cultivation and advice of my herein after mentioned executors & further I will that my dear little children shall be kept together by my wife Sarah Elizabeth raised cloathed and educated out of the proceeds of the annual crops made on said farm. This to progress from year to year untill the eldest child marries or becomes of age there she to wit my daughter Martha Ann Reeves is to have as much of the property out of my estate as the judgement of my executors may think can be spared to her the next eldest child to be treated as the first wen it becomes of age or marries the residue of my children to be treated as the two first when they become of age or marry untill the youngest arrives at the age of twenty one years then the residue of my property is to be equally divided between the whole of my children having an equitable share for my youngest child with the first children.
4th. I will that my beloved wife Sarah Elizabeth Reeves to have an equal share of my property with my children at the time of the division but in case she should marry then the whole of property is to be thrown together & she draw from it a childs part & the residue to be managed by my hereinafter mentioned Executors.
5th. My wife Sarah Elizabeth Reaves is authorized by me to buy or sell and and every article that may or can be spared off of said farm or wanting to keep up said farm so long as she remains my widow under the advice of my executors & further she is authorized to employ an overseer & settle with the same under the advice of the aforesaid executors.
6th. I do hereby appoint Thomas Baines and Abner Reeves my legal Executors.

The Last Will and Testament of Asa Reeves having been proven at this regular Term in open court upon the oaths of William D. Tinsley R. S. Ragland and John B. Fuller.
