Transcript

This indenture made this 22nd day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty two Between Thomas Baker of the one part and John Reeves Junr of the other part both of the County of Campbell and State of Tennessee witnesseth that the said Thomas Baker for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and sixty dollars to him in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath this day bargained and sold and by these presents doth bargain sell alien convey & confirm unto the said John Reaves a certain tract piece or parcel of land situate lying & being in the county of Campbell & State of Tennessee in lot 0 of Hinderson & Co. Powels Valley survey beginning at a stake in the lot line 0 thence westest 85 south 243 poles to a stake in the divisional line of walker and Hatfield this being the southern line of the tract of land sold by Thomas Baker to Byrel M Flemming thence with said divisional line to the conditional line Between Mallicoat & Grant and thence with said conditional line to tot line 0 and thence with said line to the beginning containing one hundred acres be the same more or less with all & singular the premises and every part thereof with the appurtenances thereunto belonging or in anywise appertaining to the said John Reeves his heirs and assigns forever to have and to hold the same and every part thereof to the said John Reeves his heirs & assigns executors and administrators forever warranting and defending the same against the lawful claim of all persons whomsoever either in law or equity in hereby binding myself my heirs exctors and administrators to defend the same against all persons whomsoever either in law or equity. In witness whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name and fixed my seal the date above written
