Pickens District } Know all men by these present that I Simpson R Galloway of the state & District in consideration of the sum of seventy two dollars & seventy five cents to me in hand paid by Asel Reeves of the state & District aforesaid have granted bargained sold & released & by these presents do grant releas bargain sell & release unto the said Asel Reeves all that tract plantation or parcel of land lying & being in the state & District aforesaid on both sides of Cove Creek waters of Eastatoe containing ninety seven acres be the same moore or less, its being part of two tracts of land originally granted to Frederick Glover the 2d ~ granted to Hugh Moore the 5th of Jany 1801. Begining on a (?) 3x of Glovers & Moores & runs N 7 E 32 to a rock 3x thence S86 W20 to a rock 3x S75 W 6.60 to a S. 0. 3x on the ridges, thence along the ridge S15 E 6.25 S28E3.50 S12W7.30 S21W3.50 S15.W9 to the Creek thence down the creek to the mouth of a branch, on the S side, thence up said branch too the head, thence S36 W 16 to a white walnut 3x down in the head of branch, thence down the branch to the mouth to the creek, thence up the creek to the mouth of the first branch, thence up said branch to the beginning x. Together with all and singular the right members hereditaments & appurtenances to the same, belonging or in anywise incident or appertaining, Have and to hold all and singular the said premises before mentioned, unto the said Asel Reeves his heirs executors administrators & assigns forever, & I do hereby warrant & forever defend all & singular the premises from my self my heirs executors administrators & assigns & from the lawfull claims of all persons whatsoever. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this first of December Anno Domini one thousand eight hundred and fourty two and sixty six year of the Independence of the United of America.
