Transcript

Know all men by these presents that I Alfred Campbell of Bedford County am held and firmly bound unto Alexander S Rives in the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars, for the payment of which well and truly to be made, I bind myself & heirs, executors and administrators firmly by these presents, signed and sealed this 7th day of April 1845.
The condition of the above obligation is such that whereas the said Alfred Campbell has this day bargained and sold unto said Rives the said Campbell & wifes interest in the tract of land on which Mrs. Elizabeth Rives now lives in Bedford County, for the consideration of the sum of seventy five dollars. Now if the said Campbell & wife Sarah shall make to said Alexander S. Rives or his heirs a deed in fee simple to their interest in said tract of land at the death of said Elizabeth, then this obligation to be void otherwise to remain in full force and virtue.
