November 19th 1850. I Elijah Reeves now in the presence of Almighty god and perfectly in my right mind makek this my last will and testament towit After paying all of Just debts. I will and bequeath to my wife Elizabeth Reeves my lands during her life then to be divided between my children equally I give to my wife all bonds and accounts due my Estate also all of my household & Kitchen Furniture. Stock of all kinds and plantation tools. If either of my children Should die without a legal heir I wish their interest to return to my surviving Children.Test his

At a Court held for Halifax County the 23rd day of August 1850 This last Will & testament of Elijah Reeves decd was presented in Court & proved by the oaths of two witnesses thereto Subscribed and ordered to be recorded. And on the motion of Elizabeth Reeves who made oath thereto according to law, and with Reuben C. Traynham and Elizabeth Reeves his Securities ordered into & acknowledged a bond in the penalty of $600 Conditioned according to law Certificate is granted him for obtaining letters of administration of the Estate of Elijah Reeves decd with the will annexed in due form.
