Commentary
On enumeration schedule, the "Where Born" box for Charlotte has been left blank. On the returns for the four subsequent decades, she is consistently shown as born Appleshaw, Hampshire. On the 1861 return, Charles shows his place of birth as Chute Forest and he has yet to be identified in subsequent decades. On each of 1861 to 1911, Francis consistently gives his place of birth as Chute. It is suspected the enumerator slipped the "Where Born" column down by one row.Charlotte was the widow of Charles Reeves.
Chute along with three other civil parishes was included in the Andover Registration District until 1 April 1880, when they were transferred to the Pewsey Registration District. The Andover Registration District is included within the Hampshire Registration County.
