KNOW all Men by these Presents that I John U Reeves of the Town of Bellville in Richland County in the State of Ohio for and in consideration of the natural love and affection which I bear towards my daughter Julian Swan wife of Captain Elcanor (sic Elkanah) S. Swan of the county of Prince William in the State of Virginia as well as for the further consideration of the sum of one dollar to me in hand paid by the said Julian Swan at or before the ensealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged Have given and granted and by these presents do give and grant unto the said Julian Swan her heirs Executors, administrators and assigns Twenty five acres of Land to be taken and laid out from the North east corner or angle of my tract of Land Lying in the aforesaid County of Prince William and State of Virginia and to be laid out in manner and form following Viz Beginning at a Stone entrance near to the House formerly occupied by Captain James Mitchell and also a corner in his Land it being the North East corner of m y said tract of Land and runing thence with the line of my said Land and the Said Mitchells a Southeasterly ditch a certain distance and then turnin Westwardly and runing a certain distance thence a direct line to strike the Stage road at the head of a hollow where there now stands a spreading Sweetning (?) apple tree and thence with the Said Stage road to the Beginning So as to include in the form indicated above the said quantity of Twenty five acres To have and to hold the said tract or, parcel of Land unto her the said Julilan Swan my daughter her heirs Executors administrators and assigns forever and the said John U. Reeves for himself his Executors and administrators the said tract or parcel of Land unto the Said Julian Swan her heirs Executors administrators and assigns against the claim of him the said John U. Reeves his Executors and administrators and against the claim or claims of all and every other person or persons whatsoever shall and will warrant and forever defend by these Presents In witness whereof I the said John U. Reeves have and do hereunto set my hand and affix my Seal this 7th day of May in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and fifty one.Executed in presence of John U. Reeves (Seal)

Before me Elijah Clark a Justice of the peace in and for Said County personally appeared the within named John U. Reeves and acknowledged the Signing and Sealing of the within conveyance to be his voluntary act and deed this 7th day of May A.D. 1851

I William W Irwin Clerk pro tempore of the Court of Common Pleas of said County & State do hereby certify that Elijah Clark Esqr. before whom the within deed was acknowledged and whose genuine Signature appears to the said certificate of acknowledgement was on the Seventh day of May A.D. 1851 an acting Justice of the peace in and for the Said County duly commissioned and qualified as the law directs, and further that the Said Instrument is acknowledged in accordance with the laws of Said State of Ohio.
