Page 124 notes that Charles Edward REEVES is an Ensign currently serving with the 1st Battalion of the 3rd (East Kent) Regiment of Foot (or The Buffs).

He has 3 years service on full pay and purchased his commission as Ensign on 18 March 1862.

The 1st Battalion returned from China on 9 April 1861 and are currently based in Sheffield.
