Confederate Amnesty Oath

State of Tennessee, I , William P. Reeves, of Washington County and District No. 10 in the County of Washington and State of Tennessee, do solemnly swear in the presence of Almightly God, that I will henceforth faithfully support and defend the Constitution of the United States and the Union of the State thereunder, and that I will in like manner abide by and faithfully support all laws and proclamations which have been made during the existing rebellion with reference to the emancipation of Slaves. So help me God.

State of Tennessee, I, Lawrence Bowers, an Washington County, acting Justice of the Peace, in and for the said County, do hereby certify that William P. Reeves took and subscribed the above oath before me in the said county of Washington, on the day of August 1965.
