I Robert Rives of the State and County aforesaid do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament.
I first command my soul to God who gave it, and my body to mother earth from whence it came, and after my just debts are paid, I do will and bequeath as follows:
First: I do give to my loved wife, Amelia the use of all the Bottom lands on Briar Creek, from the Greenville road west to the bank hereinafter willed to my dear daughter, Maria A Kirk, together with all the lands willed her, household furniture and all my stock during her life time, and at her death, I bequeath as follows.
First I will and bequeath to my dear daughter Mary A. Kirk the NW 1/2 Sec. 28, the SW 1/4 & E 1/2 of NW 1/4 of Sec. 21 & E1/2 of SE1/4 & S1/2 of SE1/4 of NE1/4, Sec. 19.
Second: I will and bequeath to my beloved daughter Amelia McCord the S1/2 Sec. 28 & SW1/4 of NW1/4 of NW1/4 Sec. 20 to State Road, and the N1/2 of SW1/4 of NE1/4 Sec 20.
Third: I will and bequeath to my son Robert C. Rives the NW1/4 & W1/2 of NE1/4 of Sec. 27 & all but 20 acres in the northeast corner of SW1/4 Sec. 21, the burnt gin house lot, also the N1/2 of SE1/4 of NE1/4 & the S1/2 of NE1/4 of Sec. 19. to State Road.
Fourth: I will and bequeath to my youngest daughter Joanna Jaquline Bryant the NE1/4 Sec. 28, SE1/4 except three acres in SE corner as bequeathed to R E Rives & W1/2 of NE1/4 Sec 21 & W1/2 of SW1/4 of NW1/4 & S1/2 of SW1/4 of NE1/4 Sec 20 all the above lands in township 15, Range 13.
I further will that should any of the above die without issue, then in that case, his or her portion bequeathed shall and become as my estate, and be equally divided amongst my remaining heirs named as legatees.
And, I do hereby make Joseph A. May my legal executor free of bond or security to this my last will and testament.
This 31st day of March, 1874.

In addition to Item Second in my last will and testament of 31st March 1874. I do further will, as my daughter Amelia McCord is now of unsound mind and unable of judging for herself that portion of land set apart to her in that will be leased annually and the proceeds of said lease be applied only for her maintenance during her natural life time, and I do hereby and herein empower my executor, J. A. May or my son R. C. Rives or both as the case may be to see to it, that this part of my last will and testament be strictly attended to.
