Know all men by these presents that I James B Reaves of Lancaster County and State aforesaid in consideration of the love and affection which I bear to James A Blackmon and his wife Malissa Carolina Blackmon and in consideration of one dollar to me in hand paid by the said James A Blackmon before the signing of and delivery of the instrument hath bargained sold conveyed granted and released and by these presents do bargain grant convey and release unto the said James A Blackmon Malissa Carolina Blackmon during their material lives to have and to hold and to enjoy the full benefit of a certain Plantation or tract of Land whereon the said James A. Blackmon and Malissa Caroline Blackmon now resides containing Two hundred acres more or less Lying on the headwaters of Little Lynches Creek bounded on the South by the Mill tract now owned by Marion Blackmon and J. A. P. Blackmon commencing at hickory corner near near the mill thence to a stake (?) on the Spring Branch thence down the branch to the Creek thence down the creek to a Post Oak and to Lands belonging to Molcy Catoe (?) lands binding my lands on the East thence along the line of Molcy Catoes tract to a Post Oak corner near the branch thence along side branch to a Pine corner fence to a stake corner thence across the (?) Road to a Pine corner thence to a double Pine Corner on the (?) Road striking C. F. Hinsons Land on the North line thence to a stake striking W. W. Baskins land thence along the line of Baskins land to (?) corner near a branch thence across each branch to a (?) corner thence to a post oak corner thence to a white oak corner on said branch thence to a stake corner across said branch thence down the branch and creek to a black oak corner thence to a spanish oak thence across the creek and branch to a mulbury corner and thence to the beginning hickory corner. The said James A Blackmon and his wife Malissa Caroline Blackmon shall have full power and privilege to (?) use and posess the above tract of land and all the buildings improvements and appertenances during their natural life of both or either of these. But the said lands shall not be use or taken possession of by any person or persons contrary to the will of the said James A Blackmon or Malissa C Blackmon and at the death of boath of the above married parties James A & Malissa C Blackmon the above described lands shall go to their daughter Henrietta E Marshall wife of W. A Marshall and to be used held and occupied by her and her family for their particular benefit during their natural lifetime of the said Henrietta E Marshall and at her death said lands shall go to her children Each child to have one equal and full share with the others. Hunter Notary Public do hereby certify to all whom it may concern that Francis Reaves wife of the within named James B Reeves did this day appear before me and upon being privately and separately examined by me did declare that she does freely voluntarily and without any compulsion dread or fear of any person or persons whomsoever renounce release and forever relinquish unto the within named James A Blackmon & Malissa Carolina Blackmon their heirs and Assigns all her interest and estate and all her rights and claim of Dower of in or to all and singular the premises within mentioned and released
