Transcript

I John T. Reeves, widower of the City of New York, being of sound mind and memory, do make, ordain, publish and declare this to be my last Will and Testament in manner following, hereby revoking all former wills and codicils thereto, by me made.
First, I direct that all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid.
Second, I give and bequeath unto my beloved brother David A. Reeves, his heirs and assigns, of the town of Suffield, State of Connecticut, the sum of Five hundred Dollars.
Third, I give and bequeath unto my beloved brother, R Theodore Reeves, his heirs and assigns, the sum of five hundred dollars
Fourth, I give and bequeath unto my beloved granddaughter Grace K. Reeves, her heirs and assigns the sum of five hundred dollars the same to be invested by my executor hereinafter named, in either United State Government Bonds or New York City Bonds the interest on said Bonds to be paid to said Grace K. Reeves her heirs and assigns, as it, may accrue but the principal to be paid, only on her attaining the age of twenty one years.
Fifth: I give and bequeath unto my beloved Grand-daughter Florence C. Reeves, her heirs and assigns, the sum of Five hundred Dollars the same to be invested by my said executor in either United States Government Bonds, or New York City Bonds the interest on said Bonds to be paid to said Florence C. Reeves her heirs and assigns, as it may accrue but the principal to be paid only on her attaining the age of twenty one years
Sixth: I give and bequeath unto my beloved niece Maria L. McClure her heirs and assigns, daughter of R. Theodore Reeves the sum of Three hundred Dollars.
Seventh: I give and bequeath unto my sister-in-law Mary Reeves, her heirs and assigns, widow of my late brother William, the sum of one hundred dollars.
Eighth: I give and bequeath unto my beloved brothers David A. his heirs and assigns and R. Theodore Reeves, his heirs and assigns, all of my personal wearing apparel to be divided between them share and share alike
Ninth I give and bequeath to my son John T. Reeves Jr his heirs and assigns my gold watch and chain.
Tenth All the rest residue and remainder of my estate both real and personal and of whatsoever nature or description and wheresoever situate I give devise and bequeath unto my beloved daughter-in-law Kate V. Reeves, her heirs and assigns, wife of my beloved son John T. Reeves Junior to have and to hold the same and every part thereof to and for her own absolute use, benefit and behoof forever.
Eleventh: I hereby nominate constitute and appoint my said brother R. Theodore Reeves, sole executor of and under this my Last Will and Testament
In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal at the City of New York this Twenty second day of September in the year One thousand Eight hundred and eighty five.

The above written instrument was subscribed by the above named Testator, John T. Reeves, in our presence and by him declared to be his Last Will and Testament, and we at his request and in his presence and in the presence of each other, have signed our names as witnesses thereto and set opposite our names our respective places of Residence
