Research Notes
His parents are unknown; however, on the 1784 Wake County tax lists for Capt. Daniel's district, he is listed with no acreage beside Benjamin Allen who would appear to be his father. From deeds and other records, he appears to be related in some way to Benjamin Allen as well as Reuben Allen who was a resident of Wake County until the mid 1780's when he relocated to Elbert County, Georgia. In 1794, Reuben Allen of Elbert County, GA gives Bartlett his power of attorney to recover a debt owed him.The children listed for Bartett Allen and Mary Reeves are based upon extensive research of the Allen families of Wake County in marriage, deed and other extant records.
