Narrative
Seth Broadwell enlisted on 18th March, 1864 in Co. H, 47th Regiment North Carolina Infantry of the CSA. He was wounded in September of 1864 but returned to his unit. On the 2nd of April 1865 he was captured and held as a Prisoner of War at Hart's Island, New York Harbor until he was released on 17 June 1865.
On the 5th of January 1869, Jarratt and Elizabeth Broadwell deeded to Seth Broadwell a tract containing 85 acres in Wake County on Furman Creek. (Wake County Deed Book 27, Page 61)
