Reeves Y-DNA Project Updates - July 2004 [2]
Originally notified to the Reeves-L mailing list by the late Beulah Reeves McCain with the subject line of "Good News - - Our First Match" on 29 July 2004 (accessed April 2019) and reformatted for inclusion here.
We are very excited to announce we have our first match.1
David and Barry have been working very hard to make this a successful project. Barry has changed the DNA results page in show the two that match within one marker. David indicated that the one marker off is said to be fast mutation marker so this could be a very close match.
Barry has written the two to please send in their ancestor line so it can be posted on the web page.
The more participants we have the more matches will occur.
The genetic distance of 1 is between kit # 20090 and 19083. There was just one marker (Dys #439) out of the 25 markers that was off by 1 step. The following link shows some probability tables to calculate the time to Most Recent Common Ancestor with this level of match. http://nitro.biosci.arizona.edu/ftdna/24-1-0.html
All of you that haven't joined the project please rethink as it gets more exciting as more join in and have their DNA tested.
