Reeves Y-DNA Project Updates - May 2005
This update embraces two related posts, both made on 24 May 2005 and both contained within one thread to the Reeves-L ArchiveOriginally notified to the Reeves-L mailing list by (Melvin) Lee Reeves on 24 May 2005 (accessed July 2019) and reformatted for inclusion here.
Barry,
What a surprise yesterday when I got an email from Family Tree DNA and they let me know I was a 25/25 match with Johnie Reeves. I sent him an email immediately to introduce myself and some of my family history.
I want to thank you for all the work you have done for the family at large. I know how much effort it takes to run and add all the changes to the web site. This is only the beginning, I am sure that your work will bring a lot of people together. The family history is fun to discover and makes you realize that someday, some distant relative in the future will be looking back at what we are doing today.
Have a wonderful day and thanks again for all of your work on the Reeves project.

Lee,
I understand your excitement. I am still excited about my own matches with Beulah McCain and Tommie Smith. I hope this encourages the other folks that have been undecided about joining the project to go ahead and get involved.
I have updated the DNA website to reflect your match with Johnie1 and look forward to receiving his family line information so that it can be posted as well.
Congratulations to both of you.
