Reeves Y-DNA Project Updates - November 2019
Originally notified to the Activity Feed of the Reeves DNA Project at FtDNA by Beverly Watson on 03 November 2019 (accessed 30 December 2019) and reformatted for inclusion here. 1Over the last several months we have had three participants in the Y-DNA project test who have been added to DNA Group 08. The three, Donald Reaves, Collin Reaves and (most recently) AR are all descendants of Hardy Reaves who is first recorded in Duplin County, North Carolina in 1770.
Kit 917412 for AR added to DNA Group 08 Although it had always been assumed that Hardy Reaves and family were related to the Reaves who descend from William Reaves (died 1793) of Wayne County NC, Y-DNA has established that they are descendants of the Ryves-Rives-Reeves family of DNA Group 08. They're still working to find the ancestor who links them to the Rives of Virginia's James River area and I hope the DNA Project as well as The Reeves Project will be able to help them achieve that objective.Beverly Watson
