Research Notes

This Elizabeth who married John D. Barton in Grayson County, Virginia in 1822 was originally believed to be one of the daughters of William Reeves and Anne Terrell because of an incorrect transcription of the marriage record listing her name as Raves or Reves. In the course of searching the records of Grayson County for further information for this Elizabeth, evidence supports the fact that she was not a Reeves but in fact her surname was Davis and was transcribed incorrectly on the marriage record to John Barton.
