1851 Census Piece 1664 - Isle of Wight (3rd of 4 pieces)

Location

The census pieces typically coincide with Civil Registration Districts. However, the Isle of Wight Registration District is covered by four pieces of the 1851 census, this piece 1664 and pieces 1662, 1663 & 1665.

For further information on the parishes within the Isle of Wight Registration District, please see Isle of Wight Registration District at GENUKI.

The formal division of parishes between these census pieces in 1851 is currently unknown to the writer. However, piece 1664 included Brading and the northern portion of Newchurch, including the ecclesiastical parish of Ryde, created in 1848 which was formerly a chapelry of Newchurch Ancient Parish.
