Farley Chamberlayne, Hampshire
Location
Farley Chamberlayne is small parish located towards the west of the county of Hampshire. The church today sits in isolation, but a report on the Hampshire County Council website and British History Online both hint at a former settlement. The Parish (CofE) Church is St John, Farley Chamberlayne, which can be found here on Google Street View and also from Google Street view its isolation.John William Reeves was curate of Farley Chamberlayne from 1844 until his death in 1862.
Parish Registers
"A History of the County of Hampshire: Volume 4" (pub 1911) indicates just three early registers exists...the first containing baptisms from 1593 to 1764, burials from 1612 to 1737, and marriages from 1645 to 1762; the second containing baptisms from 1700 to 1812 and burials from 1766 to 1813; the third containing marriages from 1765 to 1813.The registers are held at the Hampshire Archive http://www3.hants.gov.uk/archives/hals-collections/hals-parish-registers.htm.
