Mottisfont, Hampshire
Location
Mottisfont is an ancient parish located in the west of the county of Hampshire. It is close to the border with Wiltshire, but does not adjoin it. The village is about 5 miles north west of Romsey and 15 miles south of Andover. The historic City of Winchester is about 13 miles to the east of Mottisfont.Parish Church

"A History of the County of Hampshire: Volume 4" (published 1911), indicates four early registers survive -"The first contains baptisms and burials from 1701 to 1761 and marriages from 1701 to 1723, with a few later entries, in part copied from an earlier paper register. The second contains marriages after a gap, from 1754 to 1788, and the third marriages from 1789 to 1812. The fourth contains baptisms and burials from 1788 to 1812."

To the south and south west is Lockerley, a chapelry of Mottisfont with East Tytherley to the west. To the north is Bossington and two detached portions of Crown Farm, an extra-parochial place.Lockerley which is a chapelry of Mottisfont has Michelmersh to the south Lockerley shares a short boundary with Whiteparish in Wiltshire. To the north west is East Dean, another chapelry of Mottisfont with East Tytherley to the north.
East Dean another chapelry of Mottisfont has Lockerley to the east, Whiteparish in Wiltshire is to the south and West Dean, which prior to 1832 spanned the boundary between Hampshire and Wiltshire with the greater portion in Wiltshire. To the north it share a short border with Frenchmoor, an extra-parochial place, with East Tytherley also to the north.
