West Bromwich (All Saints)

West Bromwich (All Saints), Staffordshire

Location

West Bromwich is an ancient parish located in the south of the county of Staffordshire. Now a large market town, it grew during the industrial revolution from a rural village due to the local availability of both ironstone and coal.

West Bromwich is approximately six miles north west of Birmingham and Dudley in Worcestershire is about four miles to the west. The cathedral city of Lichfield is approximately 16 miles to the north north east and historic county town of Stafford is about twenty-five miles to the north.

Three Ecclesiastical Parishes had been created out of the ancient parish of All Saints prior to the 1851 census, namely Hill Top, West Bromwich, Holy Trinity and West Bromwich, Christ Church.
