Ludgershall, Wiltshire

Location

Ludgershall is an ancient parish located at the eastern edge of the county of Wiltshire. The village of the same name lies towards the west of the Parish and its southern flank borders Hampshire.

It is approximately seven miles west north west of Andover and Swindon is about twenty-five miles to the north. The historic county town of Wilton and Salisbury are both about twenty miles to the south west.

NB This is one of three Wiltshire parishes included in the Andover Registration District until 1 April 1880, when they were transferred to the Pewsey Registration District. The Andover Registration District is included within the Hampshire Registration County.

Adjacent (Pre 1832) Parishes

To the east of Ludgershall lies the extra-parochial place of Chute Forest. To the south is Fyfield, Hampshire, Thruxton, Hampshire and Kimpton, Hampshire. To the west lies the parish of North Tidworth and to the north are Collingbourne Ducis and Collingbourne Kingston.
