Preshute

Location

Preshute is an ancient parish located in the north east of the county of Wiltshire. However, the parish does not take its name from either of the principal settlements, which are Manton and Clatford. The parish church is about half a mile east of Manton and twentieth century civil boundary changes have transferred both the area around the parish church and Manton to Marlborough.

Manton is approximately twenty four miles east north east of the modern county town of Trowbridge, with the market town of Devizes about half way between them. The market town of Marlborough is about a mile and a half to the east, following the course of the River Kennet. Swindon is about twelve miles to the north and Salisbury approximately twenty seven miles to the south.

Parish Church

The Parish (CofE) Church is St George, Preshute is close to Manton and Marlborough College and can be seen here on Google Street View
