Children of Abigail Hicks and William Yancey:- Thomas Yancey, b. c1770
Abigail Hicks married William Yancey, son of Richard and Mary Yancey originally of Hanover County and later Mecklenberg County, Virginia on 13 Nov 1767 in Granville County, North Carolina.
In 1795, William Yancey and Abigail his wife filed suit against Sarah Hicks as Administratrix of the Estate of Robert Hicks. A subpoena was issued on 4 Feb 1795 to Sarah Reeves Hicks summoning her to attend depositions which were to be given in that case. The suit was in relation to items William and Abigail maintained were devised to Abigail by her late father. Further papers show that Sarah claimed the articles were to be sold, with proceeds given to sons Thomas & Robert Jr.
William Yancey died sometime before August of 1803 for an inventory of his estate was filed in Granville County at that time by his administrator Thomas Yancey.
